Color Dance

July 2023 - Breckenridge, CO - During a dusk hike looking for the Red Fox, I couldn’t help but hear the whizzing and humming above my head, only to discover a primal dance of color and defense. The Ruby Throated Hummingbirds would rise and fall in a U shape defending their territory, reaching massive heights off the ground barreling down to their perch on the near by trail.

Witnessing this display was another opportunity to be amazed by the diverse energies of nature. This little guy above was kind enough to display his bright colors before zipping off to his next pitstop.
